A new sniper rifle design?

I’ve been reading about the administration desire for an updated design criteria for a new sniper rifle using the private sector input along with Pentagon. Does this mean Dave will be leaving the 409 circuit and going to Washington?

They're looking for a platform that will reach out 2500 yards plus effectively. 7.62 or .308 probably not going to do that. Hell I can barely see that far let alone shoot someone.
