Engine breathers

Not sure if this had been asked before so I apologize ahead of time. On my 409, the rear port on the intake that was for a road tube/pcv has been capped off due to the valve covers having breathers on them. With that being said, I'll be getting an original pair of offenhauser valve covers that have no breathers. So, I'm asking this... on the oil fill tube up front, I have an open element clamp on breather. Is that enough? Or do I need to figure something else out? I really don't want to pull the intake, nor do I want to butcher the covers for breathers. Thanks!

With a fresh engine it should be fine, as it wears you may notice oil film all over your engine.
Is there a reason your not running a PCV system if this is a street cat?
