Looks fake to me. Performance flags and 409 up front of the fender, is that Biscayne only? Never seen that before that I can remember. I have a local guy that has a 63 Impala wagon with a 3 spd and 409 from the factory with every piece of paper from purchase. Never seen a Biscayne of any kind with the flags and 409 emblem up front of the wheel well before. I'm probably thinking of all of the Impala and Belair cars, not as familiar with Biscayne.

It most certainly is a real 409 car and the engine badging is absolutely correct for a ‘63 Biscayne. Check out the “409” firewall markings still present!

The flags position must be a carry over from the 1962 cars 409 location? Not sure why they would bother to change location on just the Biscayne vs Belair/Impala for 1963.

Check out that shoddy, but factory, workmanship on its original 409 fan shroud. My OCD would have me carefully drilling out the spot welds to repair & reweld it. I wonder how many wrists that’s cut into?!
