Wouldn't that setup work on a '62? I'm mainly a Pontiac guy and '61 and '62 Pontiac big car manual shift stuff is identical. '63 and '64 stiff was a little different but the '61/'62 stuff would work on them too.

I am a 61 Impala guy and don't know if this would work for a 62 Pontiac or not. I do know that lots of 61 stuff was one year only. As an example I looked up these parts on Southeastern Chevy for reference before posting this ad. The only part that was the same for both years is the rod retainer. Anyone with more information or experience with this please join in. The part numbers are listed below.

1961 1962

Brake pedal/Clutch assembly # L-06-003 # L-06-004

Clutch Rod # L-12-021 # L-12-022

Zbar not listed # L-12-025

Clutch rod retainer firewall # L-12-034 same

Thanks

Tim

1961 Chevy clutch and brake pedals use a pull back spring and connector under the dash on the passenger side
of the pedals -1961 Chevy pedals and linkage is a one year design including the not adjustable upper pull back rod
.
1962 Chevy pedals and under dash brace are different and a one year only design with the pull back spring and clutch
adjustment under the hood. The upper clutch rod is adjustable on 62 linkage (this upper rod is very similar in 63-64 clutch linkage)

I know I have had members replace their 1961 Clutch pedal change (from a power glide to stick) with 1962 clutch and brake pedals and
linkage on their 1961 Chevys (the dashes are the same that's why they fit in my opinion)

63 and 64 Chevy's are the same clutch and brake pedals with the under dash brace for both years

PS - I have a underdash pull back spring and connector for a 1961 Chevy clutch and brake pedal set

I spoke to fast, I have a flat long bracket and oval shaped NOS connector with 2 holes in it - I don't have the separate spring

I will post a picture of a complete 1961 clutch and brake pedal set that I have with - 2 arms , spring and oval connector with two holes in it,
Paul

My intent wasn't meant to ask if it would work on a '62 Pontiac. It would not. Completely different. I wondered if it would work on a '62 Chevy?
I mentioned the Pontiacs to point out that their systems '61-'64 were identical or very much alike during those years so thought Chevy may have been the same. Thanks for the replies.

Yes the 61 pedals will work on a 61 Chevy as long as you change the pedal assembly with the underdash bracket
and use all the 61 linkage under the hood on the 62 Chevy.
