    New Posting

The other side of the "hoarder". If no one had picked up the stuff years ago and put it away it would have been recycled and gone. In 1976 I dug a 63 QB long block out of an iron pile the owner was going to scrap. Another 340hp engine was already in the scrap yard. Bought one 409 truck engine at...

Another 409 Cross Ram on Ebay for $2000

Paul, I thought you might be pulling your current engine out to dyno/tune it with the crossram.

Another 409 Cross Ram on Ebay for $2000

PVS could do it. He has the engine. A local shop with a good dyno, and some of the intakes. Other forum members could come up with the rest.

    Paper oil cans

With the spout there was always some oil left in the can. I remember in one station they had a rack for the cans to drain completely and would sell that oil to customers that wanted cheap oil for their car.

Another 409 Cross Ram on Ebay for $2000

64superstocker, is this the intake that showed up on Facebook last week? If someone's not in a hurry you can price something high and then drop if it doesn't sell. I had to give that money for an AMC crossram. It's nice, looks like it had a couple of bolts in it for display but not run.

    Paper oil cans

I have some Trop-arctic paper quarts. Some still full, some have leaked. They are on a shelf in an old garage and oil has soaked through the siding. I don't think paint is going to stick there anymore.

L&L Classic Auto - One of the largest Classic Salvage Yards in the U.S.

That is $26250 per acre. That would have to be in a developed area with demand for more development to be worth that. An acre is a little more than 200 ft square. Is there $20000 plus a profit of salvage in each acre?

    65 dual quad carbs rescue.

Last Friday I was looking through a rat rod classified site and came across these carbs. 65 dates. They came today and looking them over I don't think they ever had fuel in them. I don't see that they ever had air cleaner studs. Don't see any linkage wear. Someone converted to electric choke...

    Aluminum Rear Bumper Project

I never finger tighten bolts. They are left out a few turns so they are obviously loose. I got forgot to tighten some bolts the next day after finger tightening them just before quitting time. The cam sprocket bolts on a Honda CB 360 motorcycle back in 1974 .

    Aluminum Rear Bumper Project

Bolts get left loose due to poorly timed phone calls, lunch, or time to leave. Maybe poorly machined parts. Blame goes to the assembler.
