Assembly of high performance 348 & 409

Yesterday I was talking to a friend I've known for 3 or 4 years who retired from Chevrolet assembly plant. He and I were talking about old chevies and he said he worked on 348 and 409. He said he was asigned to follow a high performance car down the assembly line to make sure that the non standard parts were put on. He then fired it up for the first time and drove it to the delivery yard. He said you know you could hardly keep from spinning the tires on those 409's with the 2 4 barrels. Roy

Now why can't I find a job like that? Oh, never mind, I just realized it's 2003. Nothing good to test drive anymore.

Can you believe the '63 Chevy is 40 this year???? (and im the proud owner of one) Happy birthday to all the '63's out there.
