Well...I found some QA1 springs that are 150-230# progressive weight.....also some 175# springs....gave $20 for both pair!
The coupe is now riding on its rear suspension for the first time!
Today I cut down the brake pedal assembly I have had for 15 years and have it mocked up, had to cut/weld it to allow room for gas pedal in the future.
Hope to get the brake booster mount in this week.
Going to order a Lokar shifter....heard they are good quality.....trying to get pieces in place to get floor figured out soon.C5C09D3D-BAFA-4B72-B681-BC1BD22C084C.jpeg5B990AE8-29CB-41BD-9224-695D2C366669.jpeg

Looking good.

You might also mock up your steering column to see where it will go through the floor before you finalize your brake pedal. Things get awfully crowded down there with the frame, exhaust, steering box/rack, brake pedal, transmission, etc.

Yes....I am looking at parts for that as you wrote to me.
My big issue is finding a steering shaft for my column...want to use original tube if possible.

Got brake pedal assembly and now booster mounted.....needs 5-1/2” extension and all the common ones are 4-3/4”.....so have bought 3’ of 3/8”-24unf so I can build my own pedal extension rod.
Anyone need some 3/8”-24unf all thread?3E151E79-BDF6-444D-B563-D3843DCC857C.jpeg
Pay to ship and you can have the material I don’t use.....hate to waste.

Another mile-stone passed....
I shortened my steering column tube and got a new shaft....bushing in top and bottom and built a retaining cup with set screws to hold lower bushing in place.
Also got all
the steering linkages done and that rack sure turns nice.
Going to Pate Swap Meet in a couple of weeks to find a cool old steering wheel to run....I really like my original Banjo but it is 17”.......probably be ok but I also need a wheel to use from the start.
Banjo will not get restored until after car is on the road due to restoration costs.
I sat in my “seat” and made 409 sounds.....
It sounded FAST!4C0CA1D4-EC47-4885-B07A-48E3DDEA4055.jpeg

As the old saying goes, “you’ll get pile if you sit on that concrete “. You are making good progress!

Well....here it is 2022 and I have once again pulled the rod out of her corner.....

Rear end came out today and I will be sending the pumpkin to my local Guru for assembly.
As he is doing that I shall clean up the housing of un-needed tabs left from earlier work.....and have it ready for final reassemble.
Once I get it back in position I can measure for a driveshaft.
At that point I can know where my tranny tunnel needs to be and I will get on with putting in a floor.

Hope everyone is doing well to start 2022!!!!
