1962 Impala question

I was replacing the trunk light in my 62 Imala. When I was finished the trunk would not line up to close. Looking at the car from the rear it looked like the right bottom of the trunk lid had moved. It would not line up to close. I checked the mounting bolts on the trunk hinges, everything was tight and had not moved. Both torsion bars were in place and were not broken. Both were in the top slot where they had always been. I removed the trunk and found the passenger side trunk hinge was standing up much taller than the drivers side hinge. I removed the torsion bar to inspect the hinge. I can't find anything broken or loose. Any ideas? And most important can someone explain how to remove the hinge from the car? Thanks in advance.

On a 62 there is a pivot pin the hold the hinge to the body. There is a little metal tab that covers one end of the pin so it won't fall out. You need to bend that tab out of the way so the pin can be pulled out.
