if you look closely, you can see the wire loop i added to solve the poor ground. Clean, then solder a wire or two on the brass sleeve and get a good connection to ground. Here the original socket has high resistance around the base, but the added wire will give a good ground. Instead of buying a repop housing that don't fit, you can fix your old one. The same fix an be used on the park/turn signal socket on the bottom of the headlight housings.
