Just a question as my 62 is done and I’m not about to change body parts wise now.
I know repo trunks pans don’t have the trunk wheewell plate.
But was the stiffening plate on all 62 full size cars ?
No one repo’s that plate. And I’m just curious.

All 61 to 64 Chevy's had the reinforcing plate on the lower trunk well from the factory.

What does this plate look like? I've never even realized the cars had such a thing. Thank you for the info. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Check the photo. Just above the holes.
The trunk panels I purchased didn’t have them back then.

Heddrik, I’m a Royal Oak native, still live in RO now at 14 mile & Crooks Road. In fact I’m back in my folks home.
My mother willed it to me after her passing. Worked for a Big 3 supplier for 29 years (wire harness side).

Awsum history you have there. My dad was in Air Force and we were stationed at Wurtsmith, Oscoda. All I did was play baseball and fish while a sophomore in High school. It was great but the winters were rough.1971
