Hello from NC. New to the forum, but working on two 63 c-10's. One is getting IV gen 427 (started removal of old engine this weekend) and the other is getting a 348 installed shortly. Just gotta finish up the stepside 1st. Thanks for taking time to look.63\'s.jpg 63\'s 2.jpg 427-3.jpg 348 3.jpg

Thanks Bryan. I've probably had 15-20 of these old c-10's. Always 60-63's....but the majority have been 63's due to the frames and rear ends being easier to find parts for. I plan to keep these 2 though. Tired of building them to get rid of them and I want these 2 for me.

I've got to 63's and a 64's short step side trailer project going on. And just got rid of a 61.....they just keep finding me. I'd like to see some pics of your trucks.

Got the 348 dropped in this weekend. Its just a temporary placement as it will still need rebuilt, but gets it off the ground for storage until I finish the other 63 and will allow me to do my mock up for parts.

I will be switching to CPP tubular engine mounts for manifold clearance. The stock perches will work with some very minor trimming, but I plan to run headers and the tubular mounts will give me much more room. Will probably also slide the engine forward to the front mounting holes as the passenger side firewall clearance is tight. Can easily be massaged to stay in the rear position if needed.

Sorry, just remembered how to add full size images. I don't imagine that anyone has any leads on headers that would fit for my application?

There arent any, you'll have to make them if you want headers.Since you're planning a mild/cruiser type build the 2 1/2 "center dump" car,or the 2 1/2 truck engine manifolds[actually quite simular] would be the most economical way to go[quieter too].

I tried the cast iron exhaust manifolds that came with my engine and they wouldn't clear my engine perches. I do have a set of CPP tubular perches that I plan to try out. This will also move the engine forward around 1.5-2" which will give me the clearance I need on the passenger side of the firewall. I'll do some research on the center dump and truck manifolds. I'm not worried about header noise though. Wasn't sure how the shorty headers would work........

They're not any better,if as good,as the stock manifolds. There have been members here whose mild 450 horse 409 engines lost as much as 65 hp.If you cant fab them up your self, maybe Jerod Jardine [of Jardine headers] could be of some help. He's a member.

I appreciate all your insight Don. I guess what I really need to do is get the CPP mounts in and see where my clearance is 1st. If I can get by with the stock cast iron manifolds than I have no problem running them. I should know some more answers in the next week or so then on the exhaust.

Getting closer with this project. Still need to get a water pump as this one is shot and not even sure it can be rebuilt. Distributor is about the same condition. Just trying to replace the missing parts like the alternator mounts and such so I can mock up all systems minus exhaust routing.

Hey Don, can you help me with what part #'s I should be looking for on the exhaust manifolds?

Currently I have the 3732794 & 373279 3exhaust manifolds.
