Done. At Holiday Inn Express, looks like an OK spot. Didn't feel like camping this year, plus the D-Max will get me up and back a lot quicker.

Thanks for the heads up, Pat. Where are we going for dinner?

Are there any motels that are blocking out rooms for the convention people? Or is it first come first serve?

It would be great to have you here. So far we have 12 cars showing up and there are a few that want to be there and are trying to rearrange their schedules but haven't given us a definite "yes" yet. Samoa Dragstrip is a great location and they treat us really well. We always have a great time.

Is there a schedule of events, I haven't been to this one before. My 409 isn't a race car but I would
like to take it down the track a couple times. What all is going on that weekend?. thanks. stan

I need to get busy but next week is a major hot spell. My phone shows 8 in a row over 105 and 111-112 for a few days. That makes me want to stay home in the A/C. Hope to get some PRs at least this year.

Question: Do we need to buy wrist bands and pit passes ahead of time? Linda was thinking that dad reserved these ahead of time. Besides having motels lined up are there any other things we might need to reserve prior to the event?

Also we are going to layover one night in Reno on our adventure to convention. Does anyone have good ideas for motels that support trailer parking for trucks and trailers?

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July. Cheers.

The Clairion says they have RV and truck parking, no need to buy pit or wrist bands at this track, just show up! :hug

Nutts62: This is Joel from Draper, UT. I travelled with your Dad & Linda a few times. We would meet & follow each other to some of the races. I will be attending the shootout in Eureka. I plan on leaving Draper on Thursday morning & travelling to Reno. I will be staying at Boomtown hotel & casino (I think it is now called Best Western Boomtown)which is just a few miles west of Reno on I80. They have a large lot & I usually park my motorhome & trailer there. I am approximately 70 feet long so I am sure they will have room for you. Then on Friday morning I will head out for Eureka. Most GPS's etc. try to take you up rt. 99 but I did that once & never again. From Reno I go to Sacramento & then north on I believe rt. 101, a little longer but much better road & travelling. That should get us in late Friday afternoon, which should be plenty of time. Don't think much goes on Friday. If need to we could always go a day earlier. I would be happy to meet up & travel with you. You can send me a PM on here or my email is: jbschneeweis@q.com You can always call (801)918-6415 Cell #. Take care.
