I have an aftermarket AFB bolted directly onto the intake on my 63 340hp intake. No adaptors. I've never had any problems with throttle blades. If you do this, you'll need to pack the exhaust crossover holes with something like steel wool (what I did) or you'll have some serious fuel percolation. That AFB will suck the heat out of the iron intake pretty fast. If you don't want to do that, you could get a reproduction bake-a-lite insulator and stainless steel shim from a 300hp 327 application. I think you can get them through corvette parts dealers.
