WOW - sounds almost too good to be true. Will be there. Hopefully by then all the bugs will be worked out & the car will actually complete an event without transmission failure:dunno:roll

I will have to start looking for a enclosed bumper pull trailer that I can pull with my pickup. I have a 36 ft enclosed goose neck trailer that I pull with my Freightliner, but I don't want to pull with the Freightliner across several state borders and put up with scales, Port of Enries, and DOT.

Looks like we would have a choice of a northern route (I-80) or a southern route (I-40) about 1500 miles either way???

Dave..............just as long as you choose one of them!!!! I'm so looking forward to meeting friends from the west coast!!!! In 2004....the largest number of registrations came from California!!! Hope that all the West Coasters can make it!!!

I'm in too. Sounds like it will be a great event.

Steve and Grub............I'm humbled!!!! Does this mean we have to have a Long Distance award????!!! In 2004......I got an email that these 3 guys were flying into KC for that event.................from Sweden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about stress!!!! Anyway.....now we have to get Franz here from that part of the world. Maybe we should rename to International Convention!!!!

Thanks for all the kinds posts.

Looks like we already have enough coming to make it "INTERNATIONAL"

Keep us in mind, if you find things you will need help with as the event get closer. I think we could get there early if needed.

Thanks Bill!! In talking with the track....there are several diehard Chevrolet dealers in the surrounding area..30-40 miles I'm assuming.......that might be interested in some publicity. Having a car on their lot for an afternoon was mentioned as a possibility!!! I'll have to see if this is something we can do.

caroline409dragster.jpg I FOUND HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap:clap:clap

Dick MacKenzie has called twice today from the Hot Rod Reunion. He told me something this morning that was incredible. I said...YOU HAVE TO FIND HER!!!! He just called back with her first name and the group she races with. Her father built the car and now Caroline is driving it!!! Here is a picture of the original car................409 twin engine dragster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Car originally had an injected 409 in front and a blown 409 engine in the rear. Now, I think Dick said, just the blown engine. But Caroline is running mid-8s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told Dick to get her phone number...tell her I'm harmless.........tell her dad to call me.........anything!!!!! I WANT THIS CAR HERE NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Caroline and her dad run with the North East Timing Organization. Go to their website...www.neto.com, click on "Bios" and scroll down to Galvin, Caroline and see pictures of the dragster!!!! AWESOME!!!!!

Gotta give some kudos!! Mike Bell nailed the Lebanon, KS connection about 6 weeks ago!! Then Don posted the info about the track right in his backyard!! Don...didn't have time to get acquainted when we came down but will give you a call for the next trip. Probably in about 4-6 weeks. Have you ever stopped in at the 156 Lounge north of town????? Great place with TONS of character!!!! You can read that any way you want!!

While I think the centralized location is the most fair that you could pick, I'm almost certain we won't be able to make it out that far. We are still going to try to make it to Thompson and hopefully meet a lot of ya'll up there in 2014. Hated to post this since it looks like I'm the first NO out of the group......but it just isn't possible unless something major changes within the year or unless I halt work on the 409 or the Bel Air and put the funds towards travelling. I've said it before, but I'll be looking forward to the pics and videos so I can live vicariously through all of ya'll.....and praying that everyone has a safe & blessed trip. Jason, Shannon, and the kids.
