348/71 truck ?

Will the stock engine mounts from a sbc line up with a 348 in a 71 chevy truck. Just by eye balling it, it looks possible. Or do I need to just fab some up? Any one out there done this?

I believe it is a bolt in.

Yep, will bolt right in as long as your oil pan clears the A frame. The motor mounts will align the same for sure.

Thanks, Thats what I was hoping for. Ill pick up a couple mounts tomorow to check it out. Im thinking of putting a 58 348 in my 71 project.

I know it's been done before. Someone on a truck site I used to go to put one in a 71 or 72.

Looks like it does fit right in, BUT The stock low perf exhaust manifolds will not clear the frame side engine mounts. Will have to go another route on that.
