Hi Guys,

I'm looking for the lower half bell housing or dust cover. Not sure where to start. I believe there are new replicas out there, see link:

My '58 348 motor originally came with a Powergilde tran. I believe the housing came with. No lower half!
I don't like the underneath exposed. Open to suggestions.
Please keep in mind I'm in Canada.
@Don Jacks Does Show Cars have one?

I suppose your source depends on your goal. Those generic inspection covers are commonplace in the aftermarket (I think I bought mine from Speedway Motors), but if you need a true 348 year and model specific one then it may not be so easy. By the way, I had to get out the tools and trim mine to fit, but it works fine.

Epic ride on a glorious sunny day ☀️ with my two girls!!
5 hour cruise from Toronto up to surrounding areas and back with a few pit stops.
Happy to report that all systems check. She’s running REAL GOOD finally. The most stress free run and fun in 4 years!!!

Messing around with a GoPro camera and editing (kind of crappy right now). We had loads of fun!!!

So watched a bunch of videos on progressive linkage, notably Charlie from Vintage Speed and his Rochester 2G 3x2 set up.
It happens that mine was all wrong. Secondary carbs ball rod was fastened on the wrong side of the carb base arms, sitting on the outside and same side of the carb linkage sliding swivel pin with no washers separating any of the components. The rod was fastened to the 4th hole on the main carb arm instead of the top and last hole, arm angle was wrong. This was causing some binding. And I've learned that that main carb arm has to be tightened real good so that it won't rotate on the centre carb brass shaft which caused it to get stuck in the open position.
Fast forward to after I rectified it all along with some adjustment to the lock collar. The secondaries are now kicking in at what seems to be the perfect time. And wooooooooo, does she have balls and boots. Man, never felt it that way before. I think a trip to a chassis dyno will be the next tune in the fall. Also noticed that she doesn't like low idle. She likes it up around 900 and maintains more consistent oil pressure. Around 20 psi at idle and jumping from 30 to 45 when moving around. I'm just reporting what I am experiencing as a newb. Little tweaks and clearing out the bugs. :)

Letting her go :burnout:drive
