For sure Zoom had thick gears so you didnt need a spacerIn the 70s I ran a thick 4.56 and "cheater slicks" 12.20s @ 108 lots of 5000 side steps and never broke an axle. I did have an aluminum flywheel that softened the hit and let it rpm better. Drove it all over on the street also. It DID rip all the ring gear bolts out of a 4.11 pumpkin with a spacer plate on the street when I hit it in front of a friend's house!
