I have a 409 Scoggins Dickey shortblock that I am trying to identify the cam. The only numbers I see are 4430 and A214. Any idea on cam specs?
Thanks

Is it a car or truck block,HP short block or 340 horse short block? What is the casting number?

If it's a factory built replacement short block, then it likely has the factory hyd.flat tappet truck [door prop] cam in there. If this engine is destined for your 59 pickup,I'd suggest a set of 817 heads, and an aftermarket cam, such as Show Cars 0950,and either a 340 horse 409 intake,or better yet,an Edelbrock small port single carb Performer RPM intake, and a Speed Demon 625 cfm carb.
