409 distributors

We are restoring a '63 Impala that came with a 340hp 409. The distributor has been lost over the years and we are having a heck of a time trying to locate a new or good used distributor for the car. Anybody know a good place to look for a distributor. If correct the part number was 1111023. Thanks, Grant.

What about using one of the older Mallory dual point or one of those 409 "dual-life" units? Again...if not a "show car" maybe this is the trick!

Thanks for all the advice. Somebody finally showed up with a Mallory dual point unit that is nearly correct for the car. By the way, I did go to Portland for the swap meet and could find precious little for 348/409s. There were a couple of complete engines, one tri-power that looked good. Also high dollar. The other part we are looking for is the road draft tube. Thanks, Grant.

Grant,
Your 63 340hp wouldn't have had a road draft tube originally. It would have had a rubber grommet in the back of the intake with an elbow tube comming out of it. You could put a road draft tube on there but I would avoid the mess and odor and go with the original style.
