409 fan clutch ?

Just sitting around and discussing something, did all 409’s come from the factory ,with a fan clutch. Someone said he remembered a factory listing for a spacer and fan listed in the GM parts catalog. This would help with over heating problems.

Don't know if any came with a fixed fan,but the only way I see that as an improvement is if your replacing a 4 blade vega clutch fan with a 6 blade hi po fixed fan,high capacity clutch fans are typically 7 or more blades and if the clutch is working properly will move a ton of air.6 or 7 blade fixed fans will also move a lot but eat power all the time instead of just when you need it.
