I have a 409 that i want to put in my 60 Elky. The engine is a 65. I'm having a problem finding a bell housing that will fit over the starter. I do not wish to use the bell housing from the original 283 where the starter attaches to the bell housing. Can some one give me some advice?

You can call Phil Reed and he can supply you with the bellhousing , or the casting number in case you have some to pick from;.. You can find his info. in the "members list".
You need to use the bell housing for a large diameter flywheel not the small one.
