409 Tunnel Ram

I had post a while back about building a Tunnel Ram for my 481 build.
I must say that it turned into a 100 plus hour project. I am pretty happy with the results. I am not a professional welder by any means, but did manage to learn a lot more about welding Aluminum than I ever thought I needed to.
I started with a cracked 2x4 intake and a Offenhouser 383 intake. People are always talking about port angles and it ispretty evident why. I purchased a set of heads from Bob Walla and realized that the intake ports could be raised. I decided 5/8th of an inch would work. Here are a few pics.

Obviously not your first fabrication attempt……..Nice work…… thanks for sharing…….It looks very much like you paid attention to the port entry angle ………again very nice

The Jim’s were from Canada, they built this sheet-metal intake Wayback when……..paying close attention to the curve or to the port entry…… they were very talented fabricators………

It's a 481 with BWR heads, looking at some Howard's solid lifter flat tappet cams. 10.5-1 KB Icon pistons, LS6 crank, Scat rods. A pair of 800 Holley spread bores to be different. Going to raise the the center exhaust ports. Thinking about making a stud girdle.
