59 Impala VIN question

I was wondering if 59 Impala VIN has a designation number sequence indicating whether it is a Convertible or Hard Top. I know 60 and up do, but Im not sure about 59. I think the only thing it has besides year and build date is a letter stamp to indicate Impala from Bel Air..correct?

Thanks, I tried that and it keeps coming up as a biscayne or wagon, but the car is a convertible. So I tried a few other letter combos and they all come up as biscayne or wagon, then I got lucky and hit El Camino...hahaha

Do you have a shop manual supplement for the 59? It likely explains this vin coding.

Basically it only shows the model number as a letter representing the series and whether its a 6 or V-8.
ie, "E " in the VIN would be an Impala 1700 series 6 cylinder and "F" would be an Impala 1800 series 8 cylinder. The Trim Tag should show a 1837 for a Hardtop and a 1867 for a convertible.
