I have a C40 that I put together with a 60 frame. I need to ID the rear so I can preorder the wheel bearings. I'm driving it now and don't want to have it down for long. I remember that they were a barrel type of roller and that the bearings all go in from the drum side with the axle being splined and retained by a bolt on cover. I can't find any casting numbers on the center section to help with the ID.
I want to put in all new bearing and, if I could switch to a tapered roller type.
Does any one have an idea on this swap? Maybe what bearing to use?
