Where is the best place to buy a new fuel tank for my '61 Biscayne
considering quality and price?

I just put a new tank in my '61 Impala a few months ago. Here is a link to the tank I bought. I could only find two manufacturers. One is made in Tiawan and this one made in Canada.

They have it listed on Ebay for $8.00 less.

61 gas tank

Buy only the Candian gas tank(like the link provided), the Tawian one is junk, not even plated. I have seen and installed both.

Also there is a Stainless steel tank being sold now. The lowest price I have seen on this tank is $199.

Buy a new tank guage also don't use the original.

Rock Auto sells the same Canadian tank for less and have low shipping cost.

FYI,

There are stainless steel tanks now being reproduced for 61-64 passenger models except wagons.

Auto city classic,,763-444-5880 ask for Denny. I got mine 3 weeks ago, very nice in Stainless and the fuel unit also. Tell him Mike in Louisiana recomended

Go up to Ronnie's and take the new tank and sending unit out of the red Biscayne i have up there. I think it still has 10 gallons of gas in it.
