Have two guestions :
1) Is a fresh rebuilt generator suppose to be polorized ? If so, how?
2) Is the gas cap suppose to be the vented type ?

Rusty-

See page 9-24 of the 61 shop manual for the procedure to polarize the generator. If it is a Delcotron Generator, then you should NOT polarize it (As per the 62 shop manual page 9-16).
