62 Impala Ididit column - anybody done it?

My 62 is a 4 speed, 348-ish manual steering car. I am 6'6" and 300 plus ponnds. Even with moving the bucket seats back one inch by redrilling their bases and using a totally no-dish flat steering wheel (16" dia.), I find my right knee/thigh area occupying the same space as the shifter handle. I have tried the repop spaghetti handle and have added a spacer. Still tight. I feel I need the large diameter steering wheel for leverage.

So, my question is, who has the Ididit setup? Is the column longer (prodrude into the cabin more)? Easy to install? Are you happy with it?

The Ididit tilt column will move out toward you about an 1.5" in stock fitment. With an adjustible intermediate shaft you may be able to move the column away from you.

Thanks, Paul. I may have to resort to that solution. I tried a similar fix, but my brackets were too thick and I wasn't smart enough to use countersunk screws.
