I used to run a 3.36 aftermarket posi unit in a non-correct 409 Belair and while it came with the car, it was a nice feature.

In my "period correct" builds, like my '62SS car, I went with a date coded posi unit, also with 3.36 gears.

Both perform well behind their respective 409 drive trains. One would cost a lot more, however, since it had the "P" stamp on the case.

One nice option would be a "P" case with aftermarket posi parts?

Good luck!

If it's a car that you intend for anything like road use,I'd put a posi and keep the 3.36's unless you happen to be running an overdrive trans. If that's the case, then I''d want 3.55's or 3.70's.
