Well it's been a while but we finally got the
409 put in the 63 BelAir........:beer
Was able to run it on a test stand I built so it's
good to go - no smoke and no leaks and about
60 psi at 2500 rpm.......:D
Hope to see everyone at Thompson.....

:cheers

Thanx guys.....:beer
Here's the poop....:deal

Ross .020 over forged 10.5:1 (in a 422 block)
Stock rods, crank .010 under
690 heads, 3 angle valve job, stock rockers
Crane Z11 cam (150431)
Two orig AFB's on a 881 intake, point ignition
for now, probably upgrade to a Pertonix.
Thorley ceramic coated tri-ys.
Engine built for cruise nights not racing

Ran it on a run stand so when all the bling is put on it
it should fire up and drive away.......that's the plan....:rub

What a great looking car and a great color to boot. I could use it down here to start my Monaco Blue stable once you are done with it!

All the best.

Gav, thanx for the comment on the shop...it took about a year
to rehab it.....when we moved in it was pretty beat up with little lighting,
no heat, and holes in the walls and ceiling........:eek.....but with the help of
many friends it's a great place to get me outa the house........
my wife loves it.........:love

That looks like a very stable arrangement of lift chains. How did you attach the front chains? Are they secured through the intake manifold bolts? Dan Fults

Hey Dan
Front chains attach to the upper intake manifold bolts
and the rears at the back of the heads....the adjustable bar is
made in China and although it was great at tilting the engine/trans
for installation it kept making strange noises when tilting ......:eek
