So starting to mock the front end up for soem 15"s. What is the widest wheel 15X8 or a 7 and what sized tire? Looks like my extra 15x8 Trans Am wheels that have a 4.5 back space will rub tie rod end unless they are spaced out 1/4". Some 16s I have same back space barely clear the tie rod end but really planning some Cragar SS. Rear took 15x8 4" back space n the Cragars. Not sure if getting that wide you have the outer tire hitting the fender lip with a decent tire. 245 or 255 60-15 fit?

I have 235/60-15 on, I think, 8" rim's front and back on my four door. No issues at all. Don't know what the back spacing is. Looks like enough room to put a bigger tire all around.

My 62 SS hardtop has Billet specialties wheels 16 by 7 front and 16 by 8 rear (4 inch backspace) -tires P235/55/R-16 BF Goodrich blackwall radials all 4 corners. They are on my avatar picture
No fit problems front or rear -I had all the backspace and fenders, etc measurements sent to Billet to make sure they fit before buying the wheels

I have 15 by 7 Radir wheels with P22570 -R-14s radials with 4 inch backspace on all the wheels on my 62 Impala Hardtop-zero fit problems.
Also have a set of 14 by 7 -1960s vintage Radir wheels (called Radar then) Single rib wheels (not made anymore)

About to mount P23570 R-15s Diamond Back redline radials on new 15 by 7 Radir wheels with 4 inch backspace I know they will fit on my 62 SS 409 convertible with 409/380 HP plus with a Richmond 5 speed transmission with 3:08 posi.

you will not find any 20 inch wheels on any of my cars or air bags lowering the car...

Here's what I was running on the Crusher. 15X7 American Racing Torque Thrust D-Gunmetal 3.75 Backspace. I believe the number is UN1055761. Firestone FireHawk 500 tires 235/60R-15 No clearance problems.

Skip Fix - what did you finally decide about wheels and tires?

Not on the fronts rear Cragar SS 15x8 zero offset 275-60-15s. The fronts will need a 0 offset also as the 1/2" TA wheels thow it too far in. Might get soem spacers just as a trial fit, don't trust spacers to drive myself.
