64 SS heater fan delete

A friend of mine bought a 64 SS last week and the car has a heater but no fan or fan control. He was told that it came from the factory this way. Could this be true or did someone sell him a car that was just missing a fan motor? AZ409

Why would GM delete the fan and leave the core? Although CA gets some strange things built, like a 305 ci 160 hp corvette.

It was CA car, but I agree, it doesn't make sense to install a heater without a blower. AZ409

64 heater controls are different from the usual 4 lever control. The 64 only has 3 marked levers and nothing says "fan" Air - Temp and Defrost. The fan switch is hidden the the Air lever. The fan activated when you push the air lever down...
