I have a standard steering box out of a 64 that is a Saginaw unit. Can someone tell me what series it is or how to identify it?101_3543.JPG

The fella that wishes to purchase this says that it should be a 525 series. Anyone have a clue as to how to tell the series. ???????????????????????????

I've never heard that Walt. Outside they look the same but turning ratios are different from standard steering from power steering.

Well, as it turned out Saginaw changed the part number in 1986 to a 525 from a 122 I am told. So in essence it is the same box on the outside. Perhaps then they changed a few internals for ratios etc but I do not care now as it is technically the same physical size which is important as this fella is going to use it in a '40 Ford for cross steering. Perhaps the mystery is solved.
