I got these with a motor a guy had been running in a altered coupe and was going BBC. He told me it had leaked water and was because of a head gasket and shaved the heads for straightness in case(and had). But it was a leaky sleeve and I was not told it was sleeved. Leaked water in the crankcase and in short order trashed most of the short block. bearings, lifter cam. Swore he told me and not his problem. At leas I got the heads and a Z-ll water pump in the deal. The heavy factory pistons all had collapsed skirts. Sounded pretty healthy with a Z-11 cam in it open headers the 10 minute it ran!

Well, I went ahead and ordered a new set of rocker studs and push rod guide plates from Show Cars. Took the heads over to my friends machine shop .Took the necessary cut on the stud bosses, and opened up the original guide holes in the heads. Everything now stays where it's supposed to. Should have done this in the first place.
