A Hood Scoop Project

I received a request, a short time ago, to see if I'd be able to fabricate a scoop. Similar to a Ford truck scoop only longer, to help cover a McQuillen intake set up. I'm using .063" aluminum as I thought the .050" that I use on the air cleaners, might be a little to light. The scoop should accept an original grill. And it's about 5" longer than the factory scoop. Just have to weld a little bit and tune up the flange to sit on the hoop properly.IMG_20200524_090414.jpgIMG_20200530_102235.jpgIMG_20200530_151231.jpgIMG_20200530_151437.jpgIMG_20200530_151424.jpgIMG_20200530_151430.jpg

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty pleased with the way the scoop is turning out. Before starting the last couple projects, I've been a little skeptical how well things would shape up. But, it's only metal (aluminum) so just shape it and beat it into submission. :D
