A New Type of Throttle Stop???

Had a visitor stop by today with an ice auger that suddenly would not idle down. We checked all of the throttle linkages. I made a new bushing for a pivot but it didn't help. Looking into the tiny carb opening checking to see if the throttle blade would close, I saw what I though to be a small rod. The carb opening was so small and with my glass not on straight I figured I was just seeing things. So, I had the visitor hold his hand under the carb opening while I opened the throttle. Out came a new style throttle stop, a dang paneling nail. Well there is a first time for everything I guess. :doh:dunno:scratch20220212_101910_HDR.jpg20220212_101921_HDR.jpg
Apparently the nail was used as a wedge on the fuel tank mounting tab. How did it happen to fall into the little air scoop on the carb and turn 90*, I'll never know.
