Another Center Support Failure

While I'm waiting to find out about the billet center support, I picked this one up. Federal Mogul / National Bearing HB 206 FF. I pulled the rubber to weld up the base, even though the spot welds actual looked very good. Not sure if the pictures will show this, but the rubber is much heavier than the previous supports I've used. Looks like the lighter one was from NAPA.20190731_110553.jpg20190731_105257.jpg20190731_105620.jpg20190731_105746.jpg20190731_105614.jpg15645858486603782899923158020726.jpg

What does the Federal Mogul bearing cost, and did you purchase it from one of the chain stores like NAPA, CARQUEST, O'Reilys, Advanced, Auto Zone, etc.?

Have you heard of the trick of poking a hole in the rubber and filling it with silicon?
I have never tried it, but I never beat on my 63 when I had one.
Now scene Tom has me pounding on these X frames, I just started with the poly mount, then when to a one piece shaft.

I have never tried filling the cavity with silicone, but I picked up a tube of urethane adhesive sealer for just that purpose. But after I saw how heavy the rubber is, I'm going to try it as is, for now.
