Does anyone know what the difference is between a convertible 1965 Impala chassis and a 1965 hardtop chassis?

The convertible chassis takes a shorter trans cross member which tells me the chassis rails are closer together. And I have heard many say, there are 2 extra body mounts on one. There may also be some other differences, but they are the two that I know of.

I have also heard of some using a hardtop chassis on one, but I myself would not go that route.

Not sure about the full size cars, but all the GM A-body cars had a boxed frame for the convertible. This kept the rigidity on the cars without the support of a roof. I would assume the full size cars also had boxed frames.

No more X frame in 65?

Did they changed the X frame after 64?:scratch Because the 61 through 64 Impala convertibles have an extra 2 body mounts than the hard top cars. I guess this is no help if the 65 have no X frame.:bang
