Just had my carbs rebuilt I got them back on the car the car starts fine idles fine but as soon as I put the car in gear the motor wants to die. Would this be caused by air fuel mixture or something else?:dunno

Are the secondary carbs [front and back] the type that have no idle circuit? If so, the throttle blades are cut on a bias so they completely shut off any air going past them. These carbs are either closed completely or wide open. There should be no power jets in them and no idle circuit. If you had them rebuilt maybe who did it thought he was rebuilding 3 identical carbs. If that is the case then he might have put the throttle blades in backwards and they are leaking air. Also check and make sure that the 2 secondary carbs are fully closed, it may be just a linkage problem. Look at a tripower setup as a 6 barrel carb. The center carb is the primary and the 2 end ones are the secondary just like a 4 barrel. If the secondary on a 4 barrel hangs open the car won't run.:deal Roy
