Some Blower Porn.. still mocking parts up and found a few things I will need to address. Tall valve covers will need to be cut slightly to clear the manifold, linkage changes and so on.
On the plus side the clearence I have in back was more than I thought I would have!!!

Getting closer to the start! If I did not mention this I really really dislike short water pumps on BBC in my car! NOTHING FITS! But with some ingenuity and a week of pain everything lines up! Linkage is working but I may change a few parts but I need a reverse thread 10-32 tap first..

I saw something around the 1:47 mark that I'm afraid is not going to last much longer..........

Back Tire!!!!

Now that you've got it going, buy my fenders......they are listed on Ebay in case you did not know already. Need to order pistons for the 409 soon.

Engine looks and sounds great. I hope that belt never comes off while you are leaning over the front like that. :eek You have much more clearance between your valve cover and master cylinder than I do. Mine is not a tall deck....and has GM iron heads....maybe it's a difference in firewalls between 60 & 61?

About some pistons. The owner is the former owner of J&E as well as some of his crew. They use the same blanks and have some the best piston EQ in the country. And they are small so they can move quicker than most and they are less monies!
The exact same J&E's in the 511 were 1650.00 my cost was under 800.00 from Willie.

That big ass belt scares the crap outta me! Learning the blower belt tension settings now and get this.. I start with 1 1/4 inches of slack and when warm is drops to 3/4!!! Damm things grows!!

Sad thing is I am now on the hunt for a new contract / work / job anything as I was released Monday so luckily this was all paid for prior or I would be sitting in the shop staring at it.

They downsized and no longer required a Senior Engineer ..said they wanted more interns and jr's... . load of crap but I still get my severance time and unemployment per Idaho's rules. Was thinking of restarting my career as a table top dancer but my bum knee would slow me down. I can jiggle more without moving as much though so that's a plus!

Took it for a long drive today after changing plugs to some better suited for the blower. Mine were way to hot because of the tunnel ram. It's Totally different driving compared to the tunnel ram. Mash the gas and your gone! Opened it up on the way back to my shop and man did she burn the hides! Would have took a dozen NPD to wipe the grin off!
Will be looking into some front coils or some other way to lift the front some as I have now added 50+ pounds up front and the headers are touching more than they were. Hell with the lack of funds I should just forgo eating and that would get the front end up as well.lol!

Yes!!!!!!! First business decision would be to cut the legs off the table . Trying to make it as easy as possible for Tic. Less distance to fall. :roll

I like your thinking! I will require my fuzzy slippers as well to and from the table, cold floor bad on the toes, a bottle of Jack D and a bowl or M&M's after each show minus the yellow ones.

Got the blower running pretty good now did some plug changes and a few days just tinkering with it. The overlapping foot wide black marks close by the shop can attest to ever increasing level of tune:beer
One thing that has changed majorly is the torque curve even on this NA motor which is not built specifically for a blower. I have on more than a few occasions left from the stop sign lately in 2nd gear and broke the tries loose because I thought I was in first! Yah we have all done that true BUT I am in Over Drive. So the gear ratio changes the blower book mentions are true. Blowers work best in the 3:50 or even 3:25 range depending on a few things. With my Tunnel ram I would have stalled out or smoked the clutch. Yet the Blower has yet to smoke the clutch and power is coming on at a lot lower rpm level. Makes my brain hurt!

So this next few weeks of mad scientist work will involve methanol injection. Just so I can cut it down some read on this http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/waterinjection.html After you read that you'll see that this has been around for a very long time and most of all it works! Dyno testing on turbo or blower motors have seen 40+ hp and cooler running motors. There are some good kits out there but don't let them fool you into believing they are the all knowing gods of methanol injection.

Me I am going to use a brand new Spearco Injectronic controller I have, it works off RPM and boost/vacuum, a pump, hose I sourced off Grainger, a one gallon tank and spray nozzles from Snow Performance. They also have them at Grainger but they are not as close to the flow rate I need. Snow makes a nice kit but 400.00 for about 100 worth of parts is hard to deal with. Most of it is in the pond pump your paying 200 for that Grainger sells for 80.00. Their controller does the same thing Spearco did / does back in the 80's difference is mine was 20.00 brand new :-) and I have spares.

So that's my fun I hope to work on this week!!

Sounds like you are having a ball
PS Try dancing on a billiard table, they have those little edges so you dont fall off so easy:crazy
