Hey Bart, on that 409 marking on the inside-did that come from the factory like that? I had a 63 ss and a 64 ss back in the day and I don’t recall seeing or hearing about any markers at that time. Interesting.

Hey James. Yes it did. I was very surprised to find the markings when I removed the fenders. They had never been off before. I had the 409 marker reapplied after the fenders were painted.

I’ve thought about why the fenders were marked “409” on the inside and upside down. The only reason I can come up with is possibly to tell someone on the line to punch the holes in the fender for the 409 emblems?
