So I'm on a Hemmings blog this morning discussing things you don't see on the highway anymore.
Here's a response that just cracked me up.......
Roadside America is still there, but you have to get off the Interstate and even then, it's fast disappearing. I miss roadside Diners with signs that say "Baking done on premises", or those unique little motor court hotels with the elaborate neon signs. In my area, in the last few years we've lost the Queen Nefertiti Diner and the Moon Motel with it's massive "rocket blasting off" neon sign, both on Rt 9 in Lakewood/Howell. On the other, while driving west to St Louis in 2017, I did pass the Uranus Fudge Factory. Google it, best road sign ever. "The best fudge comes from Uranus"..........
