Even so, Chevrolet made an awful lot of full-size cars. Against Einstein's own sage advice, we counted: 20.373 million full-size Chevrolets between 1960 and 1979, with a whopping 16.162 million of those from 1960-'72 alone.
Check the numbers from 58-62, about 1.4 million a year if I remember correctly. The 60-72 was 1.24 million a year, x frames, and tri 5's were bigger sellers. But the newer big stuff stuff held up pretty good, considering they also sold Corvairs, Novas, Chevelles, etc.
