Then ever someone calls the 1962 Chevrolet “ Deuce“. All I can think about is it’s a Army truck.

Sorry, different perspective. A "deuce" to me is a 1932 Ford. Guess I'm a bit older (72 last month).

Always liked firing those. At least with it mounted you could hit something the first time out. The first time I fired an M16 on auto I didn't hit anything but imagination.

My helmet experience is the same as yours, Jeff. I resisted until they made me. By that time I was old enough to think about it and I didn't get too excited. I also lost a friend, who would have most likely survived with a helmet, so there's that.

My first full auto was an M-14, which was more difficult than the M-16 for me. Actually, the AK is the most fun.

Reminds me of seat belts. I never wore them until it became law. Now I wear it all the time.
