Looking to glean some wisdom from the group about 3362s and AFBs
See images I have noted some areas that I would be interested in
The first image circled are areas that by what I can have been drilled for use on a different application
I don't think it hurt anything just need to plug them off
Second image has a hole next to one primary butterfly up to the opening shown in the first image
Third shows the air horn on the 3362 it looks different from my other 3361 and 3804 not sure if this may be an early version the 3362 but is# 6-1518 has a date of AK1 which would be First week Nov 61
the forth image shows an air horn on a I believe is a Pontiac bottom bowl housing but looks like a chevy air horn # 6-1518
Any and all help would be appreciated
If anyone has some pictures of original AFB for a 2x4 409 please add to this post

Thanks in advance
Wayne

This is a 3362 AD2. None of the holes you reference are drilled. The 1518 air horn looks correct to me.

Thanks I figured someone in its life has monkeyed with it drilling holes in it (mounting holes and making vacuum ports)
Glad to know that the top is correct just early version
I have the one cover (late) that appears to be on a Pontiac bowl hosing that will keep if i decide to match my late 3361
If anyone may have some Carter literature on casting numbers would love to get a copy

After y'all's input and by further research the 2 post are correct for Corvette primary (3369 & 3310) and Chevrolets early AFBs
read that Chevrolet had a problem with them breaking off so where changed in 63 up to the wider pin to align the air cleaner
If one Keeps learning one won't die early
