Thanks Don, and that is the plan I’m gonna take it all the way up under the dash. The stuff is really easy to put on and I still have a roll left on the bench. Should have it done this week.

Well up to this point I haven’t heard anybody complain about it, asphalt smell that is. There’s a lot more people using it than I thought. Time will tell, Just a beater shop truck anyway not a show truck. Maybe someday I’ll get to drive it enough that I can let you know.

Everyone knows that dynamat is way over priced.. I researched the hell out of it before I did my truck.. I ended up using a company named noico. I got it on Amazon for like a third of the price.. supposed to be butyl based.. it was even thicker than the dynamat.

I have used this product in several applications. Works good. The only point I would make is: It will make a mess if you try to drill through it. The cured butyl will adhere to the drill bit, ball up and pull more material (from around the hole) into the ball. Once it adheres to the bit it is HARD to clean up. Chuck

Well I went to the machine shop and picked up the big block that’s going in the 54 Chevy pick up, it is cleaned up and then checked over and is ready to put back together. For some reason I seem to keep Buying engines.:dunno In the last couple of weeks I’ve picked up two 348’s and a 350. And for some strange reason I bought a Pontiac big block performer intake. It was a good deal! The guy I bought it from had to put the cast-iron intake back on because his hood ram air did not fit with the edelbrock Performer on due to the higher intake runners. So I was there and he was there and it was cheap and I brought it home...
so now it’s time to Leave my phone in the house and chain myself in the shop And get some work done on the truck.:wacko
The heads have a new three angle valve job with hardened exhaust seats in new bronze guide liners, the spring rate seat pressure is also set for the cam I’m going to put it. Just need rings bearings gasket oil pump timing chain cam lifters a new rocker arms trunnions with lock nuts... I test fitted the dash and it is pretty good, little welding and smoothing out and it’ll be ready to install.:good3BBBD0D9-B6F4-4BCA-8F39-980D8A21E032.jpeg6F86F2C7-2F75-4F60-A582-F30C1DEE48A0.jpeg247455AF-893D-4ECD-9AEF-9F9890908A33.jpegC9E791A7-4880-4DE8-A8C1-27F9EE9B158F.jpeg2A874B5F-DEA4-4B1F-AB99-B34157E8610E.jpeg87FCE510-6417-4CA0-9E44-97D915F4A4A3.jpeg69BEE33C-795A-459E-8CFC-2129627C660C.jpeg1C6C24E5-1F40-47F8-A853-A2845C06D831.jpeg8B6D3253-6E7A-4774-B424-603DDAE3EBFF.jpegF018E06D-800E-4700-B586-49BA7E833F9D.jpeg

I think I might see a problem with one of the locks on the spring retainer, it doesn’t look like it’s seated in all the way. You can see it in the picture I’ll have to take my spring compressor and take it apart and look at it. Last thing I need is a drop a valve in this thing !!!!!!! Seems to me that any time you take something to the machine shop you always have to double check everything yourself to keep piece of mind!!!! :wacko:facepalm I was told they were ready to bolt on :scratch I know no one is perfect but dang! Those are the kind of things that make you stay up thinking at night:doh it is the only one like that Thank goodness.....E01E0DB9-45E1-48E6-A02E-08D9171E4971.jpeg

So this 409 W virus that was given to me by Tom K. and James has caused a lack of interest in my 54 Chevy pick up. So along came a man from Illinois who wanted a project for his 10-year-old and 12-year-old son. They brought a pile of money! I wish them luck and off they went with it. They were excited and so was I. :good
The other day I talked to Dean and he had freshened up at 409 for his 61. He had a set of Ross forged pistons and a set of eagle 6.135 rods. So I dug an L 78 396 forged cross drilled 396/427 crank out of my pile. Going to have the mains ground to fit the W block. Also going to have the counter balance weights clearanced too. Now what to put it in? This is my thought!!!

348 stroker motor in a 63 wagon with a 700r4 or super T 10.... Hey LA HOT RODS you up for a road trip to Tennessee? They’re sending me more pics and they say it’s a honey! I can put one of those front stubs on it and a 9 inch in it and it might be a fun grocery getter swap meet buggy! I just got to get a couple of days off to go get it and bring it home.:dance:flag:pepper:bacon689A2507-16B8-4FB5-B3CC-295E994E7B09.jpegC4950A4B-0A1D-4F67-8315-B1823C956DA0.jpeg

It can be, I just have to go pick it up. And talking to him on the phone for quite a while. It was a project that Scott was going to work on but he ended up finding a 34 Plymouth coupe. They set it aside. The car is priced right. The trouble is it’s a 10 Hour Drive one way....:doh:wacko I think it would be a fun road trip though, pick it up spend the night and then drive home!
So what do you think James?

What rear end are you putting in your 63 James? I will probably have a 9.3 available that’s full of strange parts. That would be super cool for your gasser 63 build and you know I would make you one heck of a deal! And it’s better than black male or bribery. LOL:confused:roll:write

Any 9.3 is welcome at my house. Not sure I would do Wristpin tricks for one, but he is always welcome.
John we need to talk.
