Sounds like plenty to me. I think it's going to work really well.
I modified a roasting pan to make a cold air setup for my 62 Impala a few years ago. Here's a post with a picture. http://www.348-409.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5436
It worked great but I had to jet up a size or two to take full advantage of it.
From what I've read the ram air effect isn't all that important. The main thing is to pull in the cooler outside air.
