Column shift frame bracket...

HI Everyone,
I'm trying to determine if a factory floor shift car would have had the shifter linkage bracket on the inner part of the frame on the drivers side. This is the bracket that mounts the crank for the column shifted powerglide or the 3 speed linkage. Its located just below the firewall.

My car was originally a 3 speed and it has the bracket and a stud that the crank for the 3 speed linkage clipped on to. To make things look correct, do I just need to remove the stud, or do I need to remove the whole bracket? Any help would be great!

Hi Ross, took a look at mine and the area on the inside of the frame, below the firewall is clean where the bracket would he on a column car. The only thing on the inside of the frame that is close is the emergency brake cable pulley bracket. Ralph

Hey Ralph,
Good to hear from 'ya! Thanks for the help. I'll have to get in there sometime and cut that thing off. How's your 63 comming along? Is that NOS rear quarter working out OK for you? :)
