Covention Drag Racing Pictures

The convention was a great time that far exceeded my expectations! It is something that I will remember for a long time and I must say a sincere thank you to Phil and his team for making this happen. I loved the 4’ high 409 “dash plaque”, the 409 barbeque grill, and meeting all of the 409 legends for across the country. The only down side was the rain on Saturday morning that forced the cancellation of the drag racing at KCIR. Once we got word of this, a small group of us made a “Plan B” and headed to a small 1/8 mile track about 90 miles north of Kansas City. It turned out to be a lot of fun so I wanted to post some pictures for those who missed it. The people at the track were very gracious and happy to have us, although, I am not sure many of them had seen a 409 before. They certainly did take notice when “Mustard III” ran a 5.5 second ET with a stock block 409 with 690 heads! Oh, and a 10-71 blower on alcohol. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Click on them for a larger version.

Sincerely;
Frank Friedmann
