Found it in the news today of a Chevy dealer that closed up in Nebraska more than seventeen years ago. Any car he could not sell was stashed away in back buildings, his farm property and more. He has 500 cars going up for auction next month some time, some have less than 20 miles on them and the window stickers. They even said he had a 63 impala with just 11.9 miles don't know if its a 4 door or what motor but talk about bad ass and a time warp. FYI he is 95 and his wife is 92

I hope they hurry and get this over with. Tired of reading about it, especially since most, if not almost every one are in very bad shape.

Here is the link. Apparently the guy did not sell the trade in cars. Parked them and some of his unsold inventory on a farm nearby owned by his one and only mechanic. They reportedly needed chain saws to get some of the cars out. Even the new cars sat out in the open fields and the Sheriff said he was tired of chasing off people stealing trim and radiators. The cars left outside for 40 years look REALLY rough. The '58 Cameo pickup (already up to $41,500 online bid) got its roof caved in when the roof of the warehouse collapsed from a snow load. They are expecting 10,000 people for the auction and Sat and Sun. plus the online bidders. I am sure some of this stuff will go for big money. As of last week there where only 650 registered bidders. A friend (who was also a Chevy dealer ) from near Pierce, Nebraska said he "just got his bidder number which was number 650. We talked to him on the 22nd. He tried to buy stuff for more than 20 years from the old owner of this Chevy dealership and he would never sell anything that he knew about.

Alot of hipe in the news media about the low mile cars and pickups(there are less than 50 of these low mile cars and pickups out of 500 (and 20+ of the low mile cars and Pickups have been outside "since they where new").

Not much info has been stated about the other cars and pickups that have been outside all these years.
Most are very rough(as Leo stated), and lots of 4 doors and pickups (over 75 % ), minimal accessories on the cars. Only a few hardtops and 2 door sedans, Only a few 396 cars, no 409s, mostly 283 cars, 6 cylinder cars and pickups, only one 4 speed car(a used 62). One 63 and one 64 Chevy convertible -both basket cases and stripped -they are on the Sunday auction).

See these two links for pictures for both days of the auction draw your own conclusions:
Saturday auction : http://www.vanderbrinkauctions.com/auctions_pictures.php?detail=135
Sunday Auction : http://www.vanderbrinkauctions.com/auctions_pictures.php?detail=137

All the low mile cars are being sold in the first few hours Saturday - entire sale order link (if you are interested ):
