Were super excited and added a few pics of the truck. The underside is a thing of beauty, 6 piston disc all around, currie 9" rear, 5 speed tko600, Ride Tech air suspension, smoooooooth.....

LA said something about learning the "art of a good tune" before we go EFI on this one, so on this 327 we've been doing a ton of tinkering! You can see my yellow tape with reminders. The piece on the heater box has fire order from the cap, my last timing setting, etc.

Should be ready for about anything and the goal is a daily driver that we can just enjoy the hell out of and cruise to Bowling Green with next year. Hidden in the pics, a new project, 59 Healey! For some reason, just love the big healeys and this one was sitting in my shed for 10yrs. SOOOO, pulled the wings and started. Engine is already at a local place getting punched out and starting all the mechanical things now. Hey, I cant sit still and its a project :>)

Made a video of the "SHED find"
cameron and I starting to rebuild the calipers. Funny, the calipers, used air to pop the pistons, minute 11 or so. Scared the begeeezus out of me.. We only cracked them in half, one half was frozen so brought them to a local shop. Not much happens after the piston comes out, just dont know how to edit, :>)///

Bob Walla heads?
What kind of oil pump is that?

Hi Phil, thanks for the kind words!!

Not sure on the oil pump but will post the part numbers and dyno results soon.. We learned how special these engines were a while back and took a back seat to all you guys and the pro's on this build. Don made the calls to Carl and put some special "sauce" in the cam spec, Carl did his wizardry with the build and pistons (took months to get those right), and excited to get Bobs heads and an EFI setup on Carls intake. Talk about cool, I might not wear pants when I change the oil, HA! (ehh, maybe that was a little more than y'all needed :>)...

Question....
If you are using the F.A.S.T. fuel injection do you need a special dizzy?
My 409 has 2 edelbrocks but I have been considering upgrading to the FAST....but I really like my classic looking Mallory Double-Life dizzy with Pertronix guts.

Yes and no. Yes if you want the EFI system to have the capability to change your timing curve, nut NO its not mandatory. You could indeed use the efi system, log the data and manually make the changes to your timing, but, you wouldnt get all the "advanced learning" the system offers. These kits now actually automatically adjust as you drive, so for us we wanted that capability to have the system fine tune the adjustments and went with their kit.

Mallory is awesome and can understand thats a tough choice....

On standalones, we just ordered a DUI dizzy for Betsy and will report back our feelings on it. Hoping to tune it so she doesnt need octane help and pull the ping out.... http://performancedistributors.com/product/348-409-big-block-chevrolet-dui/
